Another fun 16-bit shooter from the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive is Red Zone which is actually a bit of a hidden gem and a game not too many people talk about. Ok, so this may be a tad on the choppy side (choppy, a great unintended pun!) however, it still has some real charm and it was a pretty early hit for SegaвЂ™s 16-bit powerhouse. If you want to check out an arcade classic when it comes to helicopter games then take a look at Super Thunder Blade which was also ported to the Sega Mega Drive. While, you still pilot a helicopter here, there are also some on foot sections too which are pretty interesting.
